Bandari kick off the 2017 Kenya Premier League (KPL) season with a tie against newly promoted Nakumatt on Saturday 11 March, 2017 at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club from 3pm EAT.
Days to the game, Bandari Technical Director Edward Oduor has challenged coast fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer the team. He said the team represents the coast region and urged fans to turn up physically for the match to cheer the home boys.
"I wish to appeal to soccer lovers in the entire coast province to show patriotism and turn up in large numbers to cheer the team. Bandari is the pride of Coast and the boys need your morale support'' said Oduor
Other than that rallying call to fans, Oduor lauded new coach Paul Nkata who has managed to blend youth and experience in the team.
"'Nkata brings a wealth of experience in the team having won the KPL title with Tusker last season and we hope this achievement will be replicated here. Since his arrival we have seen positive achievement and players have adapted his philosophy. We look forward to good results.''
Bandari completed the 2016 season in eleventh place, a fall from fourth place the season before.
