The Lens: Mathare United trials

In a bid to boost their ranks ahead of the 2017 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season, Mathare United called for trials starting Monday 9 January, with more than 250 players attending before the number was cut to 30 on the third day of trials.

At the team's training base at Goan Institute grounds, there were familiar faces on show preparing for the coming season with the likes of striker Ronald Okoth, defenders Thomas Wanyama, George Owino and a bunch of youngsters from the team's Under 20 team.
