Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano was finally handed a first defeat in his second stint as Tusker FC head coach with Brewers falling 1 – 2 at home to Kariobangi Sharks, who on the flip side put to an end a seven - game winless run with the victory.

Sharks went to the match with just five points from a possible 21 from the past seven matches but their intent to bring their season back on track was well clear in the opening two minutes as Pascal Ogweno handed them the lead before Erick Kapaito summed it up with a 37th minute goal to secure the three points even as Boniface Muchiri scored in the 90th minute to halve the deficit.

Fine start

In another game, Thika United head coach John Kamande started his tenure at the team on a high, with a 3 – 1 win over visiting Sony Sugar at the Thika Sub County Stadium. Saad Musa and skipper Dennis Odhiambo gave Thika the leas with first half goals in the 21st and 42nd minutes before Mwinyi Kibwana wrapped it up with a 64th minute penalty to make it two wins in a row for the first time in the season.

At the Mumias Sports Complex Vihiga United rose from their home loss to Sofapaka to beat Wazito 2 – 1 for their third win of the season. Andrew Murunga opened the scoring for the hosts in the 26th minute before Patrick Okulo secured the points with a 67th minute goal, and Pistone Mutamba’s 87th minute strike only proved to be a consolation.

At Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz rose from the midweek setback against Gor Mahia to pick three points courtesy of goals from Allan Wanga in the 39th minute and Hassan Kiyoyo in the 79th to serve a 2 – 0 win.
