It has been a busy last few days at Vihiga United as the club prepares for the upcoming season with the ins and outs of players taking centre stage.
After confirming the acquisition of six new faces at the club on Thursday 6 December, the Vihiga County sponsored side has today Friday 7 confirmed that it had parted ways with 10 players among them seasoned duo of Charles Okwemba and Barnabas Tiema.
Edward Manoah, who has served at the club as head coach and Technical Director has also been released.
The former AFC Leopards tactician orchestrated Vihiga’s climb from the second tier to the KPL back in 2017 as head coach. Leading them to a top of the table finish and in return see them through their debut in the topflight.
Former Sofapaka defender and Ugandan national Jonathan Mugabi has also parted ways with the club, just a season after joining from Batoto Ba Mungu.
Vihiga united will kickoff their second season in the topflight this Sunday with a home tie against Ulinzi Stars at the Bukhungu Stadium.
