Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has been boosted by news of the return of first choice keeper John Oyemba and midfielder Christopher Kimathi ahead of the team's week four Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash against Gor Mahia on Sunday 25 February at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
Kimathi suffered an ankle sprain in pre-season training, which has kept him out of action for the last four weeks, with Oyemba having been out for the past two weeks due to a shoulder injury.
Oyemba’s experience will be a key factor in the Gor Mahia game as he is expected to return straight away to the starting team, ahead of Gad Mathews who was preferred between the posts in Sharks last two games against Vihiga United and Chemelil Sugar FC.
So far Sharks are yet to lose a game and are on five points after their opening day win over Nzoia Sugar and draws against Vihiga United and Chemelil Sugar FC. The point tally places them sixth on the log.
Gor Mahia have played a game lesser and are currently in Equatorial Guinea where they are slated to take on Leone Vegetarianos on Wednesday 21 February.
Gor have won all their competitive games this season, putting four goals in each of their two league games against Nakumatt FC and Zoo Kericho.
Gor Mahia won the corresponding fixture last season, 3-1.
