Vihiga United hit man Amos Kigadi has been named as the best player the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) had to offer in the month of September due to his contribution in ensuring that his team maintained their top flight status.
Kigadi who missed the first leg of the 2018 season with an injury was a boost in the later stages of the season for a struggling Vihiga side who had lost head coach Edward Manoah and replaced him with Mike Mururi.
In the month, Kigadi bagged three goals and claimed three assists to his name; his strike in their 2-0 over already crowned champions Gor Mahia being one of the important goals that kept his side in the top flight.
Apart from the goal in the Gor Mahia win, Kigadi scored the only goal in their clash against Posta Rangers and ensured a share of spoils against visiting Sony Sugar FC in their 1-1 In the month of September. While speaking to the media during the awards ceremony, Kigadi revealed that he targets 20 goals in the coming season.
''I am free of injury now so I can say I want to go for 20 goals in the coming season. This year, I aimed at helping the team survive when I returned from injury,'' he said.
Kigadi finished the 2018 season with five goals and is expected to lead the line for his club inn the new season where they begin their campaign against Ulinzi Stars FC at the Mumias Complex on Sunday 9 December.
