Kakamega Homeboyz striker Jeremiah Wanjala on Wednesday 6 September at the Mumias Complex reminded Sony Sugar why they were wrong to let him go as his goal proved to be the difference in their Kenyan Premier League (KPL) affair that kicked off at 3pm EAT.

Wanjala rejoined Homeboyz in the June 2017 window after a cold spell with the Salim Babu side where he had been for six months from Homeboyz.

The loss is a dent to Salim Babu and Sony who had hoped to make inroads towards the upper echelons of the league table with the team remaining at position 14 on the log with 23 points. They will need to dust themselves up as fast as possible in readiness for Tusker FC whom they hosts at the Awendo Ground in week 24 of league action.

The win means the Mike Mururi's charges have picked the most points at home, 25 where they have lost only lost one match. The 4 points mark places them above Ulinzi Stars who now move to fifth and they will hope they can replicate the same performance when they host Thika United at the same ground on Saturday 9 September.
