Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the team's star forwards, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could be allowed to leave the club in January if new deals do not materialize before the turn of the year.
Both Ozil and Sanchez have contracts running out at the end of the season and talks for a new contract have been stalling between the club and the players since the start of the season.
The two Gunners are demanding in excess of £300,000 in weekly wages at the club which hasn’t gone down well with the club’s board. Sanchez was close to joining Premier League rivals Manchester City on the deadline day of the transfer window and reports suggested that the Chilean had already signed a contract with City but Arsenal refused to let go of the player.
On the other hand, Ozil is said to be on the lookout for a reunion with former manager Jose Mourniho who they worked with at Real Madrid and could join him at Manchestewr United on a free transfer at the end of the season. When asked whether he would cash in on the two players in the January transfer window Wenger, speaking in a press conference ahead of the Saturday 14 October fixture against Watford, said, "Once you're in our kind of situation, you envisage every solution, yes. It's possible."
Wenger however remained adamant that both his players would eventually agree on a contract extension, "I always said that the fact that we didn't find an agreement last year doesn't mean that the player will necessarily leave because both players look happy here. Overall I hope that the situation can be turned around."
Sanchez is currently going through a rough time after his country Chile failed to secure a slot at the Russia 2018 World Cup following a 3-0 humbling at the hands of already qualified Brazil. Wenger also spoke about the mental fitness of the 28 year old saying, "I will have to speak to him, it was a very physical game (against Brazil). Mentally I will have to assess the situation when he comes back tomorrow."

Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are said to be chasing after the Chilean’s signature with PSG offering the player a huge sign on fee to woo him to the French capital. Dani Alvez spoke about Sanchez joining him at PSG ahead of their World Cup qualifiers saying that “it would be nice”. After playing Watford, the Gunners have the Europa League clash against Red Star Belgrade awaiting them on Thursday 19 October.
