WPL: Falcons keep tabs on Vihiga Queens with Spedag thumping

Trans Nzoia Falcons FC maintained their second position on the Kenya Women's Premier League table standings with a rampant 5-0 victory on the road to Spedag Ladies on Sunday 25th at Jericho's Camp Toyoyo Grounds.

Falcons, who are trying to keep up the chase of defending champions and log leaders Vihiga Queens, scored through Martha Amunyolete who earned hat-trick and one apiece from Monica Paul and Tumaini Waliaula. On their way to Nairobi, they had sent 15 goals past Soccer Queens in Ruiru.

Vihiga Queens were meanwhile held to a barren draw at the University of Eldoret by Eldoret Falcons.

Despite having played a match more than Queens, Trans Nzoia Falcons are only four points behind the defending champions.

Audrey Kaeei and Emily Adhiambo each struck for Kayole Starlet as they rallied from a goal down to dispatch visiting Vihiga Leeds. Leeds had taken the lead through Purity Nzetu.  Starlet and Leeds however still stay in the bottom half of the log- 12th and 13th respectively with only three points separating the them.

In Mumias, Mathare United Women earned a hard fought three points over hosts Wadadia after overcoming the Mumias side 2-1. Mathare, who haven't had the best of returns on the road recently, had to come from behind to earn the victory that now pushes them up to tenth on the log.
