Visiting Sofapaka FC caged Zoo Kericho 3-0 in a Sunday 16 April Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played at the Kericho Green Stadium from 3pm EAT.

Batoto ba Mungu took an early lead on the sixth minute through Ezekiel Okare and Paul Odhiambo doubled the lead soon after. The former AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia and Western Stima forward completed his brace at the hour mark to condemn Zoo to their fifth defeat in their maiden season in the topflight.

It was Sofapaka commanding the proceedings with the hosts sitting back to threaten on the counter and whenever their opponents made mistakes to possibly punish. Nicholas Kipkirui saw his loop on the 33rd minute go above the bar with Sofapaka goalie Mathias Kigonya well beaten.

Sammy Okoth's boys pushed harder to reduce the deficit in vain, the first half ending in favour of Sammy Ssimbwa's side. Odhiambo's third goal killed Zoo's motive to fight back in the end falling for a fifth consecutive time.

Kakamega Homeboys 1-2 Nzoia Sugar

In another epic clash in Mumias, Nzoia Sugar overcame Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 in a Western derby. Charles Momanyi's opener was cancelled in the 38th minute by Lawerence Juma with Edwin Wafula grabbing the winner on the 68th minute.

A loss for Mike Mururi becomes his second this season following last weekend's 0-1 defeat to Gor Mahia. Nzoia on their side return to winning ways after losing to Kariobangi Sharks.
