Abud’s Sofia on course to stay in top flight

Slavia Sofia, home to Kenyan international left back Abud Omar is on course to stay in the Bulgarian top flight following a 4 – 3 win over Montana in a relegation playoff match staged on Saturday 15 April at Gradski Stadium.

Nasko Milev gave Sofia the lead on the tenth minute before the hosts equalized on the 22nd minute through Iliev Atanas. Petar Atanasov doubled the lead on the 48th minute.

Second spot

Frenchman Saer Sene made the match even harder for Sofia with a third goal on the 57th minute. A hard fighting Sofia stepped up to show their intention to win the game in the final minutes and bag all the points.

On the 62nd minute, Ivan Minchez reduced the deficit and three minutes later, Kaloyan Krastev leveled the scores before Minchev returned to net the winner on the 82nd minute.

A win sees Sofia retain second spot in Group B with 34 points, four below leaders Botev Plovdiv who visit Sofia on Saturday 22 April.
