Kenyan defensive midfielder Alwyn Chambi Tera featured for 90 minutes as his side, FC Saburtalo edged rivals Lokomotiv Tbilisi 2 - 1 in a Tbilisi derby played on Saturday 18 March at Mikheil Meskhis Stadium from 6pm EAT.
Lokomotiv's Mamia Gavashelishvili broke the deadlock on the 23rd minute but Georgian international youngster George Kharaishvili equalized five minutes to the break with a low shot past goalkeeper Revaz Tevdoradze.
It was an end to end game in the second half with both sides pulling strings interchangeably. Saburtalo coach Giorgi Tchiabrashvili made his final substitution on the 72nd minute pulling out Lasha Shindagoridze for George Kokhreidze.
A minute later, his change paid off, Kokhreidze connecting in a cross from Luke Imandze in what was the match winner. The latter beat his marker on the left flank to float in a cross that the goal scorer easily tapped in with Lokomotiv defenders unable to clear the danger.
Saburtalo held on to ensure they record their second win at home, coming after a 0 - 3 loss to Kolkheti Poti on Saturday 11 March. They registered a 1 - 0 win against Torpedo Kutaisi in the opening fixture.
Victory sends them at the top of the ten team log with six points from three games. They visit FC Dila Gori - who beat giants Dinamo Tbilisi 2 - 1 in the earlier match, in their next league tie slated for Saturday 1 April.
The league will take a two week break to pave way for international friendly matches after the Sunday 19 March fixtures that will see, Kenyan international left back Erick Marcelo Ouma's Kolkheti visit Torpedo Kutaisi from 7pm EAT.
