Kenyan midfielder Amos Ekhalie clocked 90 minutes as IFK Mariehamn thumped hosts VPS 2 - 0 to go top of the Finnish top tier league in a match played on Sunday 14 August at Elisa Stadium.

Two goals apiece from Kristian Kojola and Thomas Makinen on the 12th and 90th minute is all the visitors needed to register their 12th win of the season.

Ten men

VPS were reduced to ten men on the 48th minute when Steven Morrissey was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Mariehamn top the 12-team log on 42 points from 22 rounds, two ahead of second placed HJK who have a game in hand.

The Kari Virtanen coached Mariehamn next face HIFK on Sunday 21 August in their round 23 clash. Ekhalie, 28, has played 20 league matches scoring a goal.
