Good Georgian times for Tera, not for Nondi

Saburtalo, home to Kenyan midfielder Alwyn Tera ,opened an eight point lead over Georgian giants Dinamo Tbilisi after taking down Lokomotivi Tbilisi 2-1 on Friday at the Mikheil Meskhis Sakhelobis Stadium.


The win in the match day 23 tie stretched Saburtalo's unbeaten streak to eleven games.

Saburtalo leads the 10-team log with 56 points from 23 games as Dinamo Tbilisi comes second with 48 points. 

Tera, 21, started the Friday game and featured for 66 minutes before being replaced by midfielder Sandro Altunashvili. It was his 15th league game this season. 

The win did not come easy as Saburtalo started from the back foot after going down to a 27th minute goal by Ucha Lobjhanidze.

Recovery goals by Giorgi Kokhreidze and Davit Volkov in the 42nd and 80th minutes handed the hosts the win.


In another game former Gor Mahia star Amos Nondi Obiero was unused from the bench as Dila hit hosts Kolkheti Poti on Saturday to shoot into third spot. Nondi has featured 13 times for the side this term.

Dila is third with 39 points. both have a game in hand.
