Harambee Stars forward Jesse Were joined the array of Kenya internationals scoring for their teams after netting Zesco United's goal in the 1 - 1 draw with Buildcon FC in the Zambian Super League (ZSL) match played at the Levi Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Tuesday 4 July.

The clash was moved to Tuesday following Zesco United's engagement in the CAF Confederations Cup on Friday 30 June, where they drew with Egyptian side Smouha, and after a largely balanced first half with Buildcon, the former Tusker FC forward powered a header home from a corner two minutes to the break.

Restored parity

Zesco went to the break in control but the lead didn't last, as eight minutes after the restart Congolese attacker Chavda Maisha restored parity heading home from a corner.

Kenyan international Clifton Miheso proved a handful for Zesco defenders as the newly promoted Buildcon went in search of the winner. A series of corners and half chances for both sides ensued but a second goal for either side wouldn't come.

David Owino and Anthony Akumu also featured for Zesco United with the latter being introduced in the second half.
