It is now official that former Gor Mahia defender Eric Ouma popularly known as Marcelo will be joining Albanian side FK Tirana in June 2018, after it was confirmed that the player will be having a spell in the country’s second tier with KS Kastrioti Kruje for the next six months.

Marcelo spent the 2017 campaign with Georgian side Kolkheti Pohti but Tirana, managed by his former coach at Gor Mahia, Jose Marcelo Ferreira, moved for him in the January transfer window.

Since Tirana had already exhausted the quota for foreign players, the defender had to be sent out on loan and he is expected to join his new team before the week ends.

Marcelo will not be the only one joining Kastori from Tirana as the Ze Maria coached team has also sent to the side another foreigner in Simon Liasu, a midfielder from Nigeria. It is said Ze Maria preferred the club since its only a 15 minute drive from Tirana as this will give him time to closely watch the duo with most of he players in the Kastrioti players having their base in Tirana.

Currently, Kastrioti are placed a top of the country’s Division One Group A table with 35 points, ten points above second placed Egnatia Rogozhine while in Group B, Tirana leads with 37 points, seven ahead of second placed Bylis.

Ouma will be hoping to be ready for his new side when they come against fourth placed Dinamo Tirana in their next league tie slated for Saturday 10 February.  Kastrioti, based in the city Kruje plays its home matches at the 8400-seater Stadiumi Kastrioti.
