Nondi's Dila falls as Lelan, Athuman register draws

Kenyan midfielder Amos Nondi clocked 90 minutes - for the third time in as many games, as his Georgian side Dila suffered 2-0 loss to Saburtalo FC in a top flight Georgian League match staged at Mikheil Meskhis Sakhelobis Stadium on Sunday 18 march 2018.

Nondi was up against a side that is home to two other Kenyan midfielders Alwyn Tera and John Macharia who in the past season turned out for Kolkheti Poti in the same league. Both were however absent for Saburtalo in the Sunday clash. 

Nondi, who was in the ranks Kolkheti Poti last year playing alongside Eric Ouma and Macharia, had earned complete minutes in the opening two league ames of the season against Torpedo Kutaisi and Chikhura which Dila won and drew, respectively. 

Giorgi Diasamidze netted Saburtalo’s opener at the 42nd minute before Giorgi Kokhreidze added the second goal from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.

The win takes Saburtalo to the top of the league standings with nine points following three straight wins while Dila is placed fifth on the log with four points after one win, a draw and a loss. Their next assignment will be against Sioni FC on Saturday.

Ismael Athuman

Fuenlabrada home to Kenyan defender Ismael Athuman picked a point from their clash against Cerceda following a 1-1 draw on Saturday in Segunda B match played at Estadio de O Roxo. 

Athuma, recently recalled to for Kenya national team duty was left on the bench as his side secured the draw. The point earned on Saturday allowed his promotion chasing side move up one place to hit the 55 point mark enough to topple Rayo Majadahonda on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Joshua Lelan Kemboi was unused substitute as Crawley Town played to a 2-2 draw against Carlisle United in England's League Two. Richie Bennett and Hallam Hope scored Carlisle goals while Karlan Ahearne Grant brace ensured that they shared spoils.

Leland, once capped for Harambee Stars, was name in the match day squad for the 29th time out of the 30 games this season, and it was only his eighth time that he sat out the game. 

Crawley Town is placed 12th on the league standings with 53 points after 37 matches, three points behind Carlisle who are tenth on the log.
