Stars midfielder in as club books Champions League spot

Kenya U23 midfielder Alwyn Tera will be featuring in the UEFA Champions League next season after helping his side Saburtalo clinch the Georgian National League title on Monday 26 November.

Chambi as he is popularly known by his peers featured as Saburtalo edged title rivals Dinamo Tbilisi 2-1; the win seeing them collect 74 points, 11 ahead of rivals Tbilisi who are second after 33 rounds. 


The clash saw visitors Tbilisi open the goal scoring proceedings in the 14th minute through Budu Zivzivadze but Saburtalo restored parity from the spot six minutes later through Giorgi Kokhreidze’s. Four minutes later, Brazilian winger Vagner Goncalves handed Saburtalo the lead before being withdrawn for Tera in the 55th minute.

The development  comes right after Tera made his bow with the Kenya U23 national team as a second half substitute in the 3-1 second leg win over Mauritius U23 in the 2019 African U23 Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday 18 November.
