Wins for Kenyan Internationals in Europe

Kenyan midfielder Ismael Athuman came on as a substitute at the 54th minute as Fuenlabrada beat Deportivo De La Coruna II 2-1 to maintain the top spot on Segunda B league standings.

Randy Ntekja put Fuenlabrada into the lead at 49th minute while Juan Manuel Marrero added the second at the 60th minute. Uxío Da Pena came off the bench to score a consolation for La Coruna at the 80th minute.

Athuman appearances

With 20 matches played this season, Athuman who joined Fuenlabrada from Las Palmas in June 2017 has clocked 317 minutes. In those 20 matches, Fuenalabrada have won 13 league, drawn five and lost just two.

They have scored a total of 35 goals and have conceded 14. So far they have 44 points, four more than what second placed Rayo Majadahonda have.

On Sunday 14 January 2018, they will be hoping to extend their stay at the top when they face Talavera CF at Fernando Torres Stadium. 

In Belgium, Kenyan midfielder Johana Omollo came off the bench and helped Cercle Brugge beat OH Leuven by a solitary goal in a Belgian first Division B match played at Jan Breydelstadion on Friday.

Omollo a penalty ad Irvin Cardona converted it to sent Brugge second on the league standings with 14 points, one behind leaders Lierse.
